Packers vs Rams

Packers vs Rams : The Rams have started 7-0 for the fourth time in franchise history and the first time since 1985. They have scored at least 23 points in each of their seven games this season — the only longer streak to begin a season in franchise history was 2000 (10 straight). The Packers have won five straight against the Rams with their last loss coming in Week 5 of 2006.

“I be in the huddle telling him to get down,” receiver DeAndre Hopkins said. “I need him. That’s what I tell him honestly. Don’t take those hits unless you … have to. But he’s a warrior. He wants to get in the end zone every time the ball is in his hands.”

Watson threw for 375 yards with a touchdown and an interception and ran 10 times for 40 yards for the Texans, who won in overtime for the second straight week.

Houston coach Bill O’Brien agreed with Hopkins that Watson is taking too many blows but added that he doesn’t want to cut down on the hits at the cost of changing the way he plays.

“We’ve got to do a better job of making sure that he doesn’t take as many,” O’Brien said. “At the same time, it’s a fine line because that’s part of his game. That’s the way he plays the game.”

“He enjoys that part of the game to be honest with you,” O’Brien continued. “I think it’s something that we continue to coach and obviously, it’s something we don’t want an abundance of him getting hit, but sometimes it does happen.”

Patrick Mahomes finally looked somewhat human, but his Chiefs teammates more than picked him up in Kansas City’s 30-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mahomes came into the game with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chiefs’ 4-0 start to the season. He completed 22 of 38 passes for 313 yards, but the Jaguars pressured him far more heavily than any other opponent had managed, which helped result in his first two interceptions of the season.

In Pittsburgh, meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to continue to round into form, as they meet the AFC North-rival Browns for the second time this season.

And in Kansas City, arguably the league’s best team faces one of the few teams to give them trouble this season in the Denver Broncos.

Get scoring updates, news and analysis on Monday at 5:15 p.m. as the 49ers are looking to pull an upset when they take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Green Bay.

Rodgers has been hobbled for weeks with a left knee injury that’s affected his mobility, but he’s still producing for Green Bay. The former Cal star threw for 442 yards and three touchdowns despite a loss to the Lions last week.

It didn’t matter as Kansas City’s much-maligned defense repeatedly forced turnovers, building up a lead that the Jaguars could not overcome.

Here we are at the unofficial midway point of the 2018 NFL season. We’ve had an OK first half picking games, but we know we can do better now that we think we know all the teams better.

The good news is there are a bunch of games that we still can get right. Unfortunately, there’s also a lot more to get wrong.

Both teams are 3-4 with their high Super Bowl hopes on the ropes. Doug Pederson vs. Doug Marrone is a drama worthy of Shakespeare, as the heat is on both coaches to get the best out of their players before a midseason bye and the stretch run. Pederson is the better coach and has the much better QB in Carson Wentz. Offense won’t come easy for the Eagles, but Bortles will be forced into more critical mistakes.

The NFL season reaches its midway point this weekend, and CBS has an intriguing slate of games featuring a mix of contenders, hopefuls, and rebuilding teams on the docket. With the trade deadline just a few days away now, we may see a few teams switch within those tiers.

Two teams that appear to be in that contending mode meet in Carolina this weekend, as the Panthers, fresh off a comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, face the Baltimore Ravens and their stingy defense.

In Pittsburgh, meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to continue to round into form, as they meet the AFC North-rival Browns for the second time this season.
