Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson, otherwise known as “The Match”, will finally take place this Friday, November 23 from the very luxurious Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.

Tiger Woods vs Phil Mickelson

This one-on-one, made-for-TV, winner-take-all battle will follow standard match play rules but it isn’t simply for bragging rights. Nine million dollars will be on the line on Friday, which certainly won’t be coming from either one of their bank accounts unless you count the hefty number of side bets that are expected to take place throughout the afternoon. Think long drive contests, closest to the pin and putting. With these two, who knows what they’ll come up with? While specifics have not been given, at least a portion of the cash will be going to the charity of the winner’s choice.

Since we’re talking money, let’s not forget that this Tiger vs. Phil showdown isn’t free. That nine million has to come from somewhere, right? The first-ever pay-per-view event in golf history will cost $19.99 and will be available on multiple platforms. But hey, at least it’s commercial-free and both will be mic’d up.

“The Match” will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the east and noon in the west and is available for purchase through AT&T’s DIRECTV and U-verse platforms, as well as a few other cable and satellite operators in the U.S. and Canada. If you’re looking to go the streaming route, look no further than Bleacher Report, who will be offering Tiger vs. Phil via B/R Live. Please be advised that you can not transfer your purchase. If you buy “The Match” on cable, you can’t access it through a streaming app and vice versa. The best bet here is going to be B/R Live as if you can’t watch it live, purchasing through this service gives you access for 48 hours following the conclusion of the event.

Here’s everything you need to know for The Match: Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson.

49ers-Buccaneers injury reports: Joshua Garnett underwent thumb surgery

By Matt Maiocco November 21, 2018 3:04 PM Lions vs Bears

Backup offensive guard Joshua Garnett, a former first-round pick, had thumb surgery over the bye week but the club does not intend to place him on season-ending injured reserve.

“He had a tendon repaired over the break,” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday. “Just need to give it a couple more days to heal up.”

The 49ers expect linebacker Reuben Foster to return to action this week. He was limited in practice on Wednesday. Foster missed the two games before the bye with a hamstring injury.

Wide receiver Pierre Garçon and Garnett are less certain to be available against the Buccaneers. Garçon did not practice Wednesday. Garçon has missed two of the past three games with a knee injury. He is second on the team, behind tight end George Kittle, with 24 catches for 286 yards and one touchdown.

Garnett is a third-year player from Stanford whom then-49ers general manager Trent Baalke selected at No. 28 in the 2016 draft. He was in competition during training camp for the starting job at right guard. But Garnett missed most of the preseason with a knee injury, opening the door for veteran Mike Person as the starter.Lions vs Bears

Garnett entered the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings when Person sustained a foot injury. But Garnett played just 14 snaps before sustaining a dislocated toe. Garnett has served as a backup for the past three games.

SANTA CLARA — 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said after his ACL surgery that one of the toughest parts about recovery, was walking around with crutches.

In the team’s second practice in preparation for their Week 12 match up against the Buccaneers, Garoppolo stood, crutch-free on the sidelines watching his teammates go through drills in the light drizzle.

Garoppolo and fellow 49ers ACL rehabber Jerick McKinnon will still likely watch games from the coaches booths or owners suites for fear of further injury. For now, at least, they are allowed to watch individual drills and practice while on the field.

Shanahan has confirmed that both Garoppolo and McKinnon have regularly been around the facility, in meeting rooms and participating in film study.

Garoppolo had surgery in early October and is expected to return for the 2019 offseason program.

Considering their sizable disadvantage in the spread, Atlanta will have a real challenge on their hands next week. They will challenge New Orleans on the road at 8:20 p.m. ET Thanksgiving night. If the match is anything like the 37-43 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

Falcons vs Saints

It was close but no cigar for Atlanta as they fell 19-22 to Dallas on Sunday. Atlanta’s loss came about despite a quality game from Julio Jones, who caught 6 passes for 118 yards and 1 touchdown. Julio Jones has been one of their standout athletes in their past three games.

Meanwhile, New Orleans might be getting used to good results now that the squad has nine wins in a row. They steamrolled Philadelphia 48-7. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point New Orleans had established a 38-7 advantage.

New Orleans’s win lifted them to 9-1 while Atlanta’s defeat dropped them down to 4-6. Drew Brees will be someone to keep an eye on after he passed for 363 yards and 4 touchdowns on Sunday. Let see if he can build on that strong performance or if Atlanta’s defense can bottle him up.

The Saints are Thanksgiving favorites against the Falcons for several reasons, but most notably because they boast a dominant offense and the Falcons struggle to contain opposing passing games.

Quarterback Drew Brees has thrown 25 touchdowns and just one interception this season. Atlanta gave up 391 passing yards in an overtime loss to New Orleans in Week 3. Plus, the game will be played at the Superdome.

After two games on the road, Dallas is heading back home. They will square off against Washington at 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Dallas have to be feeling especially confident now that the spread is in their favor.

Dallas narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Atlanta 22-19. Ezekiel Elliott, who picked up 122 yards on the ground on 23 carries and caught 7 passes for 79 yards, was a major factor in Dallas’s success.

On Sunday, Washington were close but not close enough as they fell 21-23 to Houston.

Redskins vs Cowboys Lamar Miller and Will Fuller have missed practice time in the lead-up to the game, but both believe they’ll be able to play on Sunday.
For the Texans, Jadeveon Clowney is coming off a big week, and was named the AFC Defensive Player of Week 4. J.J. Watt is coming off of just being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month. So they’ve got that going for ‘em.

Both David Irving and Randy Gregory missed practice this week, though neither was absent for injury reasons. Sean Lee and Travis Frederick missed time, as did Terrance Williams.
Fortunately, running back Ezekiel Elliott isn’t going to miss any time after he was banged up in the team’s last outing.
Demarcus Lawrence is somehow flying under the radar this season, but he’s been a ridiculously good pass-rusher through four weeks. The folks at Blogging The Boys think that Lawrence should be a serious candidate for Defensive Player of the Year.
Speaking of great defenders, Watt is continually chasing the record books.
Play-calling is tricky, but there’s one (mostly) money play the Cowboys have been running.

Bears head to Detroit to face the Lions in a Thanksgiving Day battle between Bears vs Lions Live

Chicago (7-3) is coming off a major divisional win Sunday night over the Vikings to take over first place. With the Week 11 win, the Bears reached seven wins for the first time since 2013. But Detroit is riding high, too, after edging the Panthers to improve to 4-6 on the season.

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has 20 touchdowns with nine interceptions and a 97.7 quarterback rating. But Chicago’s defense might be the biggest reason for the turnaround; it leads the league with 27 takeaways. The Lions are coming off a win against the Panthers. It wasn’t a great win, but it was a win over a playoff contender. The Panthers had scored with a chance to tie the game at 20, but a missed two-point conversion led to a 20-19 win. The Lions will be without Kerryon Johnson in this one, who sprained his knee against Carolina.

The Lions should put up more of a fight in this game than they did in Chicago. They always do on Thanksgiving. The Bears got some breathing room after beating the Vikings on Sunday while the Packers lost to the Seahawks. However, nothing is promised in the NFL, so the Bears would love to watch football on Sunday having widened their division lead. Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has 20 touchdowns with nine interceptions and a 97.7 quarterback rating. But Chicago’s defense might be the biggest reason for the turnaround; it leads the league with 27 takeaways.

The Lions got the win in Week 11, but lost lead rusher Kerryon Johnson, who was sidelined with a knee injury. Johnson leads the team in rushing with 641 yards and would be a huge loss to the offense if he can’t play. Detroit is led by first-year head coach Matt Patricia, whose defense has managed to take down two of the best quarterbacks in the league, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, but has otherwise struggled to find enough consistency to keep the team in playoff position & Watch this Thanksgiving Day game between Bears vs Lions live stream

Vikings vs Saints

Vikings vs Saints: The Sunday Night Football matchup this weekend is fantastic, as the Minnesota Vikings will host the New Orleans Saints at 8:20 p.m. ET. Will the game live up to the hype from a scoring standpoint?

While not quite a landslide, the matchup between Minnesota and the Jets last Sunday was still a pretty decisive one as Minnesota wrapped it up with a 37-17 victory. Latavius Murray and Kirk Cousins were among the main playmakers for Minnesota as the former rushed for 69 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter passed for 241 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you haven’t heard Cousins’ name lately, then you haven’t been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past four games.

Meanwhile, New Orleans brought a four-game winning streak into their match against Baltimore; they left with a five-game streak. New Orleans won a contest that couldn’t have been any closer, slipping by Baltimore 24-23.

Their wins bumped Minnesota to 4-2-1 and New Orleans to 5-1. In their win, New Orleans relied heavily on Drew Brees, who passed for 212 yards and 2 touchdowns. Minnesota will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Vikings are 1-point favorites to beat the Saints. The total, meanwhile, sits at 52 points. As of this writing, 51% of the public betting tickets are on the Saints to cover the point spread.

New Orleans Saints

Saints acquired CB Eli Apple from the Giants in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round pick and a 2020 seventh-round pick. The Saints were reportedly in the market for Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson, but it does not seem like Arizona is open to moving their star corner. Apple had a rocky run in New York and is not near Peterson’s level, but he has played pretty well this season. This is a good get for New Orleans at a great price. Following this trade, the Saints are now without their first-, third-, and fourth-round picks in the 2019 draft.

Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins completed 25-of-40 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns in the Vikings’ Week 7 win over the Jets. It was a struggle much of the day as both offenses really had trouble moving the ball. At one point, both teams were a combined 0-for-12 on third downs. Cousins, however, did throw a 34-yard touchdown to Adam Thielen on the opening drive before then hitting Aldrick Robinson for a second 34-yard score in the fourth quarter. Both were dimes from Cousins in tight coverage. Cousins will look to get back on track with big numbers next week against the Saints at home.

New Orleans

The over is 10-4 in the Saints’ last 14 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.

Minnesota

The over is 36-16 in the Vikings’ last 52 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.

Prediction

Drew Brees and the Saints were stumped offensively by the Baltimore defense last Sunday until the fourth quarter and then moved the ball at will. Minnesota hasn’t been right defensively since the second half of last season’s NFC Divisional round matchup against these very Saints and I expect New Orleans to score plenty this weekend. The over is 6-0-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams in Minnesota and 8-2 in the last 10 meetings overall. With how well Cousins is also playing, I love the over on Sunday night.

Packers vs Rams

Packers vs Rams : The Rams have started 7-0 for the fourth time in franchise history and the first time since 1985. They have scored at least 23 points in each of their seven games this season — the only longer streak to begin a season in franchise history was 2000 (10 straight). The Packers have won five straight against the Rams with their last loss coming in Week 5 of 2006.

“I be in the huddle telling him to get down,” receiver DeAndre Hopkins said. “I need him. That’s what I tell him honestly. Don’t take those hits unless you … have to. But he’s a warrior. He wants to get in the end zone every time the ball is in his hands.”

Watson threw for 375 yards with a touchdown and an interception and ran 10 times for 40 yards for the Texans, who won in overtime for the second straight week.

Houston coach Bill O’Brien agreed with Hopkins that Watson is taking too many blows but added that he doesn’t want to cut down on the hits at the cost of changing the way he plays.

“We’ve got to do a better job of making sure that he doesn’t take as many,” O’Brien said. “At the same time, it’s a fine line because that’s part of his game. That’s the way he plays the game.”

“He enjoys that part of the game to be honest with you,” O’Brien continued. “I think it’s something that we continue to coach and obviously, it’s something we don’t want an abundance of him getting hit, but sometimes it does happen.”

Patrick Mahomes finally looked somewhat human, but his Chiefs teammates more than picked him up in Kansas City’s 30-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mahomes came into the game with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chiefs’ 4-0 start to the season. He completed 22 of 38 passes for 313 yards, but the Jaguars pressured him far more heavily than any other opponent had managed, which helped result in his first two interceptions of the season.

In Pittsburgh, meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to continue to round into form, as they meet the AFC North-rival Browns for the second time this season.

And in Kansas City, arguably the league’s best team faces one of the few teams to give them trouble this season in the Denver Broncos.

Get scoring updates, news and analysis on Monday at 5:15 p.m. as the 49ers are looking to pull an upset when they take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Green Bay.

Rodgers has been hobbled for weeks with a left knee injury that’s affected his mobility, but he’s still producing for Green Bay. The former Cal star threw for 442 yards and three touchdowns despite a loss to the Lions last week.

It didn’t matter as Kansas City’s much-maligned defense repeatedly forced turnovers, building up a lead that the Jaguars could not overcome.

Here we are at the unofficial midway point of the 2018 NFL season. We’ve had an OK first half picking games, but we know we can do better now that we think we know all the teams better.

The good news is there are a bunch of games that we still can get right. Unfortunately, there’s also a lot more to get wrong.

Both teams are 3-4 with their high Super Bowl hopes on the ropes. Doug Pederson vs. Doug Marrone is a drama worthy of Shakespeare, as the heat is on both coaches to get the best out of their players before a midseason bye and the stretch run. Pederson is the better coach and has the much better QB in Carson Wentz. Offense won’t come easy for the Eagles, but Bortles will be forced into more critical mistakes.

The NFL season reaches its midway point this weekend, and CBS has an intriguing slate of games featuring a mix of contenders, hopefuls, and rebuilding teams on the docket. With the trade deadline just a few days away now, we may see a few teams switch within those tiers.

Two teams that appear to be in that contending mode meet in Carolina this weekend, as the Panthers, fresh off a comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, face the Baltimore Ravens and their stingy defense.

In Pittsburgh, meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to continue to round into form, as they meet the AFC North-rival Browns for the second time this season.

Colts vs Raiders

Colts vs Raiders : There have been many signs the Raiders are tanking this season, but trading a 24-year old, two-time Pro Bowl receiver might be the final nail in the coffin for the 2018 season. Regardless of record and trades, these games are still meaningful for the 46 men that suit up Sunday

This feels like a make-or-break week for a lot of people, including Vegas, who apparently took a bath last week as a bunch of big public teams covered. That doesn’t happen often! And you can see the market correction: the Chiefs and Rams are both double-digit favorites, while a bunch of different teams like the Giants and Raiders are being completely discounted because of their decision to trade everyone away.

The public is taking sides and slamming their tickets down from last week demanding a double down on trendy favorites with big spreads who looked good last week.

Prediction
The Colts are a solid 3 point favorite against the Raiders.

This season, Oakland is 1-4-1 against the spread. As for Indianapolis, they are 3-4-0 against the spread

Series History
Oakland won the only game these two teams have played in the last 4 years.

The line continues to move in Baltimore’s direction, so I like the value here and it reminds me a lot of the Ravens visiting the Titans a few weeks ago. At the very least it would be stunning if this is a blowout, which gives Baltimore a chance to win a close game on the road against a team that doesn’t take the top off offensively.

Again, the Saints are getting a ton of action because they’re the popular team du jour after storming back on the Ravens. They want revenge. Well, the Vikings want to win too, buddy boy. And they might be a more balanced team: Kirk Cousins is living up to his contract somehow, Adam Thielen is doing things even Jerry Rice never did, Stefon Diggs might be due for a home breakout game and Minnesota is getting Everson Griffen back. I don’t know if he’ll play in this game, but the defense should be keyed up with an important player returning.

This is an enormous game: the Saints are trying to keep pace with the Rams, but the Vikings are in maybe the toughest division in football and would have a huge tiebreaker advantage for playoff purposes if they can win this game. It’s going to be a battle, but I’ll take the team with the underrated homefield advantage not giving points in this heavyweight affair. (He said, as he continues to fade the Saints week after week for some stupid reason.)

We are flying in the face of everything we saw last week and taking some teams that are less popular. Let’s go.

Do not care to take road chalk here, but I firmly believe the Ravens are a better team. They’re coming off a tough loss to the Saints at home where, if the defense does its job in the fourth quarter, Baltimore easily wins. And Carolina was down 17-0 in the fourth quarter to the Eagles — if Philly’s defense does its job, the Panthers lose. That’s not to discredit Drew Brees and Cam Newton and their outstanding late-game play, but the point is that this line is way different if two good defenses keep two good quarterbacks from pulling off two fairly unlikely — but good! — comebacks.

Cleveland has played everyone except the Chargers close this year. Baker Mayfield’s starting to find some rhythm and Nick Chubb is being featured. They need some pass catchers here to go along with Jarvis Landry, but David Njoku is profiling like a potential stud. The Steelers are coming off a bye and will score points, but the Browns have the ability to catch up as well and their defense is plenty stout enough to turn this into a mud fight. Give me Cleveland to keep it close.

Head Coach Jon Gruden and Co., are returning home at a good time as well; sitting at 1-5, the team is desperate to notch another “W,” but they’ll have their collective hands full with Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.

Transactions make the world go ‘round, so let’s give a quick recap of what’s happened the past few days at 1220 Harbor Bay Parkway.

This game opened as a pick’ em at Pinnacle, and bettors have wasted no time pounding the Colts. Seventy-six percent of tickets and 90% of dollars wagered on the spread have taken Indy as of writing

It’s been a while since the Oakland Raiders actually played in Oakland, right?

With trips to Southern California and then London, followed by the bye week, the Silver and Black haven’t actually played a true home game since September 30th – coincidentally their only win of 2018.

Amari Cooper is now a Dallas Cowboy, Marshawn Lynch is on the reserve/injured list, Daniel Carlson is the team’s kicker – more on him later – and Marcell Ateman and Denver Kirkland are on the 53-man roster.

The two big takeaways from that list are ironically the guys who aren’t going to suit up on Sunday, Cooper and Lynch, and because of that, I’ll be keeping an eye on the players who step up in their stead.

Obviously, Doug Martin is the first man that comes to mind, as he’ll be the Raiders featured back against the Colts, but I’m also excited to see if we see an uptick in reps for Jalen Richard as well.

Cardinals vs 49ers

Cardinals vs 49ers : NFL 2018 Sunday Night Football Eight weeks into the season, The San Francisco 49ers look to pick up their second win of 2018 on the road against the one-win Arizona Cardinals, and here are five players to watch for the NFC West contest.

Eight weeks into the season, the Arizona Cardinals are still looking for their first home victory of the season. The San Francisco 49ers, whom the Cards beat Oct. 7 for their first and only win of 2018, could present the perfect opportunity. Can the Cards get it done amid the off-field distractions they’ve endured in the last week? Here are a pair of predictions for Sunday’s matchup in Glendale. Most Suns fans remember when Terry Porter became the team’s head coach in 2008. Porter’s slow, methodical style shackled the Suns’ high-powered offense — and when he was fired midseason, interim head coach Alvin Gentry went back to former coach Mike D’Antoni’s run-and-gun style, and it paid off.

I think the same phenomenon, albeit to a lesser degree, is about to happen with the Cardinals after shedding offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and his unimaginative strategy. The promoting of former head coach Bruce Arians’ protege Byron Leftwich to the position will serve to unleash the talented players the Cards possess on offense, including David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and rookie Christian Kirk.

Yes, the Cardinals have a number of other problems to address, including a mediocre (at best) offensive line and a rookie quarterback still feeling his way through his first NFL season. But Leftwich’s play-calling, combined with a pass defense that led the Cards past the 49ers three weeks ago, should be enough for Arizona to get its first home win of the season.

Cardinals 28, 49ers 23I’d love to say I believe in Byron Leftwich as the Cardinals’ OC — but he’s called as many regular-season NFL plays as a coach as I have! Josh Rosen was impressive against the 49ers several weeks ago, but last week he was downright dreadful against Denver.

When the 49ers (1-6) played the Cardinals (1-6) in Week 5 of the 2018 season, San Francisco fell victim to Arizona’s only win of the season so far. That can’t happen again. Will the 49ers drop their second of the year to the Cardinals? Or will C.J. Beathard out-play rookie Josh Rosen? We’re about to find out on Sunday.

Cardinals fans should hope Leftwich schemes to have his two best players involved: David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. But truthfully, if I was a defensive coordinator, I’d stack the box to shut down the running game and make Rosen beat me. On defense, can Arizona slow down San Francisco’s running game? Based on what I’ve seen lately, I doubt it.

Fitzgerald has more receiving yards against the 49ers in his career than any other active player has against any other team in the league. With 2,204 receiving yards and against San Francisco, only Jerry Rice had more receiving yards against another team.In a matchup of 1-6 teams, I’ll take the 49ers to exact revenge on a last-second Robbie Gould field goal. 49ers 20, Cardinals 17.
